Is it worth anything to anyone to get me to make a video of me destroying a set of white van scam speakers in a fit of rage?
I have a really nice LOOKING set of Di Vinci DV-505 Speakers. ( Check out
www.divincisound.com and see them for yourself. Apparently its an 1800W surround sound system worth $3500.00 by special order only, or alternatively you can purchase them from shady people out of the back of white vans.
I figure I'm already out $1200 for the system, so I might as well throw a fit and post it online somewhere... seems like the rational thing to do.
As an added bonus, I will take one of my Di Vinci DV-1420 Tower speakers (1400 supposed watts and supposidly retailing for $1800 itself, and change it into a stylin garbage can.... a garbage can that I paid $400.00 for :|
Anyways, I'm obviously embarassed and pissed about the whole situation, but hey... I figure if I can recoup a few bucks and give some people some entertainment... might as well :)

Wow.. Hey thanks for this. I almost went to look at at Genesis Home Theater. THe website is impressive but I got suspicious when i couldn't find any reviews. Your BLog confirmed it. Thanks. That white van scam was around 20 years ago when I was kid, I guess the natural progression was to the internet.
Damn man!!! I guess I just got ripped off. I went out for lunch and I bought Di Vinci DV-6030 hometheatre sound system and I haven't even turned on and after I saw what the internet said about them I don't even want to open the box. I paid $300 and I feel really retarted overe it right now!!! I should have knowned better, being in florida made me soft, I would have never done this in NYC. And yes I bought it off a guy in a white suv pick up truck!!!
hey man my buddy just bought these speakers from some idiots in a green SUV he paid $160 for them. we tried selling them and pawning them, but everybody knows about them being pieces of shit. we live in rochester MN if you say you got fucked over in Florida they know that they are busted god damn im glad these fuckers didnt ask me. hahahaha

Ah hell, I paid $200, and was just googling the company to see if I could find their boss, report them, get the $200 back, and walk away with a clean conscience. Hope they're okay for $200, probably not. By the way, the plates of the guy I bought them off were Pennsylvania GNF-7968. Man I feel dumb.
Hello,
I was just scammed by a method called the white van scam. I was pumping gas and two guys approached me stating that they needed to sell an set of high-end speakers their boss had ordered extra by accident. They were very convincing, as they showed me brochures, invoices and the like. I asked why they couldn’t buy them or sell them to a friend, and they gave me some excuse about needing to deliver the whole shipment in my area within the hour. They also said that their boss told them to try and sell them for the wholesale price, otherwise, they would have to return them to the manufacture, which costs them more money.
The speakers were supposedly worth over $2,000 and I bought them for $200. I go home to look up the speaker brand and suddenly found out I was ripped off by the “White Van Scam.”
Although I was suspicious about the purchase, I said to myself, “these guys are on camera, I have their license plate number, if they were ripping me off they must be insane because I can find them and have them prosecuted criminally.” Turns out, the police seem to be on the crooks side, stating that I did in fact receive speakers. But what about theft by deception or fraud in the inducement? These are crimes in which the seller represents the goods are one thing, when I reality they are another. The cop I talked to gave me some b.s. line about “buyer beware.” I said, “really, so I can go buy a bunch of fake diamonds and come up with a scheme to sell them to unsuspecting old ladies passing them off as real high quality goods?” He said, “two wrongs don’t make a right.” No kidding. I wouldn’t rip anyone off but the point is that this scam was planned out to a tee, and with fake company shirts, brochures, invoices, and filled with lies as to the true nature of the speakers. THIS WAS A FRAUD.
Anyways, sorry to vent so much, but if you would like more info, just type in White Van Scam on Google. I have also created a website, immediately after this happened to me www.WhiteVanScam.com which has more info on the scheme and everything about it. Don’t fall for this.

i just seen the 2 men today (Oct. 6, 08) and i got the man down to $280 from $500 gave him the money then i was looking him up then seen this posting and i went to a other bank and seen them. i told him 2 give me my money back and he did. he did try 2 take the money out my hand after he gave me my money back then i told him and his friend that i will kick there ass then rob them if he touch me again. but tanks for this posting, i got my money back.
I ended up getting a pair of these van scam speakers at an auction. Since I'm only out $30 for the pair and they both work, I think I did alright. Hey, maybe if some of these guys approach me, I can offer to sell them a pair of speakers XD
Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to add that the speakers didn't sound impressive at all.
Fuck yea smash that shit... i would love to see it... and fuck those assholes in the van
I was told by my son that this guy is selling a di Vinci surround for $300.00 and it retails for $2990.00 there abouts and the box is unopen with price on it.
It's a guy in a house that is getting the word out about this so called Smoking Deal.
I have looked it up on line to find MANY different words about this item?
If it is a fake/rip-off then why not just put in large print RIP-OFF?
I read that some think it's real and good for the money?
I see that it is a scam in a white van- black van and in my case home sales, can't the law protect from this?
I guess the law is to busy giving out speeding tickets, it's easier than collecting taxes?
I think maybe some should post pictures of these Scam Junkies and maybe plate numbers too, why not?
And why not include pics of the units with warnings?
I don't see why this is going on so much?
Call a news station and have them do a segment on it/them, I would think that would be a good way to get back at them?
Why not?
If it were not for all the info on line I would have done the same thing, been burnt!
Make it known and all stand a good (if not better) chance of getting money back or Sweet Revenge!!!! Maybe both?
So I take it that it's a scam at 100.00 or 400.00 I even read that a person paid $800.00 Ouch!
How to stop this Scam?
Expose them, get a TV team on it, news teams usually love this stuff, right?
